Alan Lupton
Business Development Manager
lan-lupton

After a career in sales and distribution, Alan bought a very small trucking business and as he says, ‘We started out with one truck, then one became two and we grew and then one day you realise you’ve caught the trucking bug.’

‘The reason I enjoy it still today is that you get out of it what you put in to it. Doing the job right the first time, when you say you will, is still the most important criteria in building customer confidence and loyalty. It really is all about delivering a performance you can trust.’

When not trucking Alan and Barbara are busy with charity fund raising activities or pursuing other interests around family, classic and vintage cars, boating, fishing and travel.

Simon Melgren
Operations Manager

Simon has over 10 years experience in the transport industry. He also has an extensive background in horticulture management together with operations expertise in the food industry.

Simon has learned over the years that honesty and integrity, together with treating customers with respect, are key ingredients. ‘At Lupton Carriers we will always endeavour to go the extra distance to accommodate our customers’ requests,’ he says. ‘We have a fantastic team and offer the best service you will find anywhere in the Auckland region.’

In his spare time, Simon is an active committee member of a rowing club. He is also a member of a multi-sports club where he has a passion for paddling all forms of kayaks.

Johnathan Kelletjohnathan-kellet
Warehouse manager

Johnathan has been Lupton Carriers Warehouse Manager for over six years and has been involved in the industry in some shape or form all his working life.  This has included time spent working for Dominion Breweries, The Portage Licencing Trust and Tetly Breweries in the U.K.

More recently he worked for both Selaks and Nobilo wine companies in warehousing roles.  He takes great pride in the warehousing operation and activity, as he knows it is central to much of what Lupton Carriers do everyday.

He says, ‘If you take pride in what you do and create the right sort of culture and work ethic it will serve everyone well.’

When not working he can be found cheering on the All Blacks or The Warriors.  He is also a self-confessed (and highly accomplished) mad guitarist.
